Bari to Dubrovnik
105 nautical miles straight across the Adriatic — officially the Regata Internazionale EST105.
Point-to-point offshore racing with no coast in the middle: you leave one country in the afternoon and arrive in another one the next morning. Sailors know it by its code, EST105, and by its distance.
What the race actually is
A single offshore crossing from Bari on the Italian side to Dubrovnik on the Croatian side. The name comes from the nominal 105 nautical miles, though the course actually sailed has measured between 110 and 121 depending on the year and the finish port. Most boats are at sea somewhere between twelve and twenty-five hours. Classes run for ORC, cruising boats and multihulls, and the race counts towards the Italian Offshore Championship.
Where it comes from
It was founded in 2006 by CUS Bari, the university sports club, and it was built from the start around the idea of connecting the two shores of the Adriatic rather than simply running a race. The 2026 edition brought the finish back to Dubrovnik, in partnership with JK Orsan, after several years finishing in Montenegro.
It can be a hard night
The 2026 crossing was brutal — gusts over 40 knots and seas several metres high. Of roughly 40 starters, only four finished in the cruising category. Most years are nothing like that, but the Adriatic in spring can produce it, and the race is rated accordingly.

Every position counts
Sailing is a team sport, and a crew is only as strong as its weakest link. Every crew member is active and in the middle of the action — on the helm, on a winch, or hiking on the rail as live ballast, which is anything but passive and often decides the result. Nobody spends the race wondering what is going on.
Coached, not just chartered
There is a training session before the race where you try the different positions on board and learn how to trim properly, and at least three experienced sailors are always in the crew. Michal has sailed 30,000 nautical miles and raced at world-championship level, and he explains calmly what needs to happen and why, before and during the race. Nobody gets shouted at on this boat.
The paperwork is ours
Entry, rating, berth, briefings and the logistics around the event are organised for you. You arrive, you train, you sail and you go to the prizegiving — gaining experience and enjoying every mile of it.

Questions we get asked
Is this the same thing as EST105?
Yes. The official name is Regata Internazionale EST105, run by CUS Bari. Outside Italy almost everyone refers to it by the route instead, which is why this page is titled Bari to Dubrovnik.
Does it always finish in Dubrovnik?
No — the finish port has moved. Editions between 2023 and 2025 finished in Montenegro, and 2026 returned to Dubrovnik. We confirm the current year’s route before taking bookings.
How much of it is out of sight of land?
Most of the middle. It is a genuine open-water crossing rather than a coastal race, which is exactly the appeal for a lot of crews.
